Krista Jaspers is Communications Manager for the Pacific RISA / NOAA Climate Adaptation Partnership (RISA/CAP) team based in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi. She has a BA in Geography/Environmental Studies from the University of California, Los Angeles and a Master’s in Geography with a Graduate Ocean Policy Certificate from the University of Hawaiʻi at Manoa. Krista’s graduate research included the impacts of tourism and success of voluntary eco-certification programs with regards to Hawaiian spinner dolphins on Oahu’s leeward coast, and the implications of future policy decisions on the dolphin tour industry. She has been Project Coordinator for the Maui Coastal Use Mapping Project, a collaborative effort between coastal resource management agencies (NOAA, DAR, PISC, PIRO) and NGOs designed to inform ongoing management and policy decisions regarding nearshore coral reef ecosystems in Hawai’i. Krista has been with the Pacific RISA team since 2013, where she has also served as Project Asssistant.
